Great Success!!

So after months of waiting and three rejections, I finally did it--I actually made it into Law School! On Thursday afternoon, I opened the "big" envelope for Santa Clara Law. Pretty exciting i would have say. I it couldn't have come at a better time--Wednesday night was full of frustration and even a couple of hours looking at the UCLA career center for full time jobs. I breathed a huge sign of relief as the weight of not knowing what I am doing next year was lifted off my shoulders. Thank you for everyone who has wished me congratulations and especially my parents and two sisters who spread the word like wildfire throughout the family.

With graduation from UCLA fast approaching, I feel a sense of sadness at leaving UCLA--the traditions and prestige; the friends and memories of the past 4 years; the excitment of college and finally being "on my own". It truely did go by too fast. And although the law school doors have been opened, I can't seem to shake the past 4 years and the hope that I made the most of them. I hope that i did and i do feel that i tried to experience all i could--although i have to admit i wish i could go back and fix my GPA. I don't feel that it reflects my ability. I guess all i can do it enjoy the next 6 weeks or so, soaking in the sun and trying not to fail my classes.

Europe awaits.

Law School awaits. Still waiting for a decision from Golden Gate. They sure are taking their time.

I don't want to grow up

After calling home to talk to mom about i don't want to pay car insurance, get a job or worry about responsibilities, she offered the advice that I could always work at Disneyland. I proceded to say that I could work all day as Goofy, in which she replied. "How about one of the 7 dwarfs?" Silence. Now is it just me or is that a shot at my stature? Was i just called short by my 5'2" mother? After all the years of telling me I was a perfect height, the truth comes out.

On another note, I was sent this through an email by Nike. I thought it was interesting and provided a nice complement to Dad's post of a couple days ago.

Thank you, ignorance.

Thank you for starting the conversation.

Thank you for making an entire nation listen to the Rutgers team's story. And for making us wonder what other great stories we've missed.

Thank you for reminding us to think before we speak.

Thank you for showing us how strong and poised 18- and 20-year-old women can be.

Thank you for reminding a sports nation that another basketball tournament goes on in March.

Thank you for showing us that sport includes more than the time spent on the court.

Thank you for unintentionally moving women's sport forward.

And thank you for making all of us realize that we still have a long way to go.

While i don't follow nor watch women's basketball, i thought it was a telling email nontheless.

I'm going to go and sulk about being short now.

Sweet Ride

So not to bore you with a double dose of this weekend but i promised i would post.

Unable to wait a extra couple of weeks for my first set of 4 wheels, I made the trek up to Nor Cal and hung out with the Sunnyvale gang. The weekend always goes to fast and this time was no exception. With the only hiccup involving Pete's strange illness, i couldn't have asked for a better couple of days. Lots of good food, wine, company and of course the keys to my very own car. (Well technically its not mine for another 71 months, but who is counting)

All in all, I could not have asked for a better time. A little time away from LA to clear my head. A break in the routine to shake the frustrations of the past couple of months. Laughs with the family. A talk from a HS friend who always seems to know what to say. And i finally can go faster then 40 miles an hour!

Now if only this car would make USF change their mind. :(

Thoughts

Hmm...So i guess i have not updated this thing in a while. sorry to my die hard fans out there. its been the start of the new quarter so i have been dealing with trying to find classes that fit my schedule and my preferences of no friday and monday classes although it turns out i may have failed on the no friday front. Books have been making quite a dent on my bank account. 300 bucks already and i have not finished buying them all. I don't know how they expect us to afford them. Good thing this is my last time buying undergrad books although i have a sneaky suspicion that grad school books are not going to be much cheaper. i have been trying to work out daily, hitting the gym 4-5 times a week and then putting in a few runs here and there. My motivation for triathlons have seemed to gone out the window as i have been using the excuse "i just don't want to swim" for the past 2 weeks now and my bike is collecting dust. I am not sure why that is. Life just seems to be getting me down. Girl drama has been putting me in a down mood lately. And it seems that I really should try and get more stuff off my chest as things have just been building and building. that is something i need to work on considering that i have so many people that support me yet i keep turning to the one person who is pushing me away. After 3 years i guess its time to move on.

I just want to enjoy my last quarter in LA. what next year holds for me...I have no idea.

I just want to give a little shout out to my fish, Pudge. Its been 1 year today since he passed away.

Im taking a road trip to San Jose this weekend for a little time with the sis and bro and finally getting my first set of wheels! ill post some pictures when i get my sweet new ride although everyone that is reading this has seen it. but its still gonna be mine. and that stupid UCSC license plate is gonna be the first thing to go!! j/k trace...Slug Pride FOREVER!

UCLA lost this past weekend.

Enough said.
