Over the next 4 months I trained pretty consistently. Running 4 days a week, on average, and even running on treadmills when I wasn't at home. My training culminated with a 12 mile run a week before the race.
On April 11th, I finished the Santa Cruz Half Marathon in one hour and thirty two minutes. That's about 7 minutes a mile. For 13 miles. My goal was to finish under 1:30. But a strong headwind did not make things easy. And around the 11th mile, I was, to put it simply, tired. Oh well.
Ill be doing another one soon. Any takers?!!

I have been struggling with the idea of running a full marathon. On the one hand, I really want to do it--and hopefully qualify for the Boston marathon. Yo do this I need to run 3:10-->7:14 min per mile for 26 miles!! ouch. The Long Beach marathon in October seems to be the best option for doing this. On the other hand, my feet are just recovering from the half-marathon; I have blisters on every toe and even on the sides of my big toes. It's pretty gross. Additionally, training for the marathon would mean continuing to run while studying for the bar and while working full time.
Decisions, decisions...

Dude - you're amazing! Congrats on the half-marathon! Running is a thing of my dreams and my dreams only. The last time I ran it was through my kitchen to grab the video camera and I slipped and slammed into the counter and seriously bruised my rib cage. I'm not kidding.
I understand your dilemma regarding a marathon while studying and working and taking the bar...somehow, though, if anyone could do it, it's you. :)
Love you and LOVE that you FINALLY updated your blog! Keep it up!
We are very proud of you, Dave! What a stud...keep it up. xoxxo
